Job Description

Summary:

The Construction and Landscape Laborer is responsible for performing a range of manual labor tasks in both construction and landscaping environments. This includes preparing sites, operating tools and machinery, assisting skilled trades, and performing general labor duties outdoors in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and able to adapt to different job tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the setup and cleanup of construction and landscaping sites.
• Dig trenches, level ground, and prepare surfaces for construction or planting.
• Load and unload materials such as soil, gravel, concrete, lumber, or tools.
• Operate and maintain basic hand and power tools (e.g., shovels, rakes, drills, saws).
• Mix and pour concrete, lay pavers, install edging, or help with retaining walls and fencing.
• Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, lay sod, mulch beds, and perform general groundskeeping.
• Assist with grading, drainage, and irrigation installation or repair.
• Follow site safety protocols and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work closely with skilled tradespeople and follow directions from supervisors.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor preferred but not required.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous labor.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, team player, and good communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (may be required).

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor work environment; exposure to varying weather, dust, and noise.
• Regular use of tools, equipment, and materials.
• May require early morning shifts, long hours, and occasional weekend work.
