Junior Data Scientist

Description:

WhirlWind Technologies, LLC has an immediate opening for a Junior Data Scientist. The role involves working on projects related to data science and artificial intelligence (AI), requiring familiarity with key concepts in these fields while working remotely.

Responsibilities include developing methods and procedures for collection and analysis of data from several data sources; monitoring, reviewing, and validating customer data to ensure it is collected and processed on schedule; automating data collection from various external data sources and data types; leading requirements gathering from customers and stakeholders; creating interactive data visualization dashboards; integrating tools like machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and robotic process automation (RPA); understanding the customer's business to provide leadership and support their goals; creating presentations to communicate with stakeholders; and providing weekly status reports.

Requirements:

Comfortable with modern software development practices such as version control, continuous integration, and test-driven development.

Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.

Knowledge of application system analysis and data analytics.

Knowledge of business intelligence software.

Professional attitude with a strong self-directed work ethic.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years experience in one or more of the listed programming languages and tools; previous working experience as a data scientist or in machine learning; basic knowledge of Agile processes and principles; outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills; excellent organizational and time management skills; sharp analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.

Experience designing, training, and deploying machine learning models.

Ability to attain Public Trust clearance.

Experience in one or more of the following: Python, Julia, C, C++, R, MATLAB, Java, Scala, EMR, Spark or similar.
