Drive Culture, Lead Change, and Impact People Strategy at a Top Consumer Goods Manufacturer

Are you a passionate HR professional with a strong track record in manufacturing? A well-respected leader in the consumer goods industry is seeking a Plant Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations and strategy at one of its flagship production facilities in Macon, Missouri . With a workforce of approximately 350 employees , this is a highly visible role that blends both strategic leadership and hands-on execution .

You’ll serve as a trusted advisor and key business partner to plant leadership, helping shape culture, drive engagement, and implement HR best practices that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with plant leadership to drive culture, employee engagement, and talent strategies.

  • Lead and develop a team of 3 HR professionals.

  • Manage all core HR functions including:

    • Employee & labor relations

    • Talent acquisition and onboarding

    • Performance management and succession planning

    • Benefits and compensation administration

    • Compliance with EEO, AAP, OSHA, and other regulations

    • HR audits, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Drive change management and organizational development initiatives.

  • Support union-related matters and foster productive labor relationships (union experience is a plus).

  • Oversee cultural health assessments and execute action plans to improve workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum 2 years of HR leadership experience in a plant setting.

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with organizations of 150+ employees in a single location.

  • Demonstrated success in change management and leading teams or projects.

  • Union experience preferred but not required.

  • Will consider high-potential Senior HR Generalists ready for the next step.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $90,000–$130,000 (target $120–125K DOE)

  • 10% Annual Bonus + 9% 401(k) Match
