Citian is a fast growing, venture backed SaaS technology company based in Washington, DC. Our software solutions revolutionize how our transportation systems – roads, rail, transit, bicycle, pedestrian – operate. Our tech solutions reduce traffic fatalities, enhance pedestrian accessibility, and empower system operators to save time & money.
As a Proposal Writer, you will actively lead or participate in the development of the technical approach and win strategy elements, demonstrate leadership in persuasive writing, establish style guidelines, and implement proposal development best practices. The role involves conducting evidence-based research and interviews with subject-matter experts (SMEs), identifying and prioritizing relevant information to inform the development of a technical approach, and leading a cohort of contributing writers and SMEs to prepare a winning proposal response.
You will also copyedit and proofread content for accuracy, support quality control of content throughout the development process, and assist in the production of various Citian publications and marketing collateral. Collaboration with the Citian Business Development Team to research and pursue new opportunities is also part of the role.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field. 3+ years of proposal or technical writing experience for state and federal projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills; adaptable; capable of performing individual and collaborative work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to quickly comprehend and communicate on diverse subject matters in transport engineering, data analytics, and software development.
Previous training in proposal development is required.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in Communications, English, or a related field; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); and certification from Shipley and/or APMP.
Shipley experience or certification is preferred.
