Position Summary The Senior Development Officer for Individual Giving is a key member of the Institutional Advancement Department and reports to the Chief Advancement Officer. This position is charged with building and maintaining a dynamic portfolio of individuals with the capacity to make philanthropic gifts of $10,000 to $250,000 and more through effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. In addition, this position will play an important role in the execution of the Clark’s current $100 million+ campaign. This front-facing role will interact with the Board of Trustees and colleagues across the museum as well as the larger Clark community.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)- Develop and manage a dynamic portfolio of approximately 100 high-potential donors and prospects; hold a minimum of three to four significant interactions (phone calls, meetings, lunches, gallery visits, etc.) with donors and prospects each week.
- Establish and maintain relationships with individuals in portfolio and position those individuals for significant fundraising requests in line with the museum's priority needs.
- Annual fundraising goal up to $500,000 for general operating support, exhibitions, programs, and other fundraising priorities.
- In conjunction with Advancement colleagues, develop tailored strategies for engaging prospective donors in ways that align with their interests and deepen their involvement with the Clark.
- Involve, as appropriate, the Director, curators, other senior staff, and Trustees in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly and work evenings/weekends.

Hiring Salary Range: $72,800-$80,500/yr.
Minimum Qualifications Education, Training, and Skills - Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Entrepreneurial and goal-oriented development leader.
- Excellent communicator in verbal, written, and presentation forms.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, with preference for experience in an arts organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on projects, and to be proactive and solution-oriented.
- Effective computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge and/or other CRMs.
- High level of integrity and demonstrated judgment.
- Ability to work independently and as well as part of a small, highly efficient team in a fast-paced and challenging atmosphere.
Work Experience - Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience.

- Physical Demands: This position requires sitting at a desk/workstation and using a computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment and museum spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Overnight travel will be necessary.
